The consortium is composed of 3 universities, one technological partner and one provider of VET education. The profiles are complementary to each other and the expertise of each partner is key to achieving all project objectives.
Reykjavík University (RU), founded in 1998, has quickly become a leading force in research and teaching. RU’s core activities are teaching and research in solid connection with the industry and society, focusing on interdisciplinarity, international quality standards, innovation, and professional service. This is shaped by respect for society and the environment. At RU, seven departments are split between two academic schools, the School of Technology and the School of Social Sciences.
The Technical University of Crete (TUC) is a technical (engineering) university with a clear mission: To expand knowledge and benefit society through research integrated with education. In this endeavour, the pursuit of excellence is the driving force. More than 50 laboratories with prime equipment, high technology infrastructure and eminently qualified personnel (more than 60% of professors have received their PhDs from Western European and North American universities and belong to the world’s top 2%) attest to the level of excellence in education and research conducted at TUC.
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is one of the major public universities of Spain. UAB will participate through the TransMedia Catalonia research group, which has been researching audiovisual translation and accessible communication for 20 years. TransMedia Catalonia members will contribute to the project with their strong expertise in language, translation and technologies.
